Has anyone had the Northern Wall quest disappear? - Guild Wars Forums

I've played through the quest once, I believe, where we went down and explored, found some armor of a ghost, and got chased back by the Charr. This time as soon as we visited the Wall, the quest disappeared from our list, and we saw no way to go on.

You're using the word 'quest' but I believe you're talking about the Northern Wall 'mission'. Quests are different from missions. Hopefully you know why so I won't explain...

Sounds to me like the first time you went through - when you had to collect the armor for the ghost, etc - you were doing the mission. The second time, it sounds like you just stepped outside and started wandering the land.

If you want to redo the mission again (like to complete the bonus) you can just go into the Northern Wall area by using your map, form a party, and then hit the "Enter Mission" button. That will take you back to your armor finding, charr chasing days...

Sorry, I missed one key point. The first time we performed the mission was with one set of characters. That time we found the armor, got chased, etc. This time, with a new set of characters, we had the mission, went to the area, but couldn't cross, and whenwe went back toward Tydus, the mission was no longer showing.

Tydus gives a quest that allows you to talk to a person at the mission entrance area(called the great northern wall and can be map traveled to) ...the mission and the quest are 2 totally seperate things,,,build your group and hit enter mission while at the great northern wall and you will redo the mission whether you beat it already or not...the mission goal does not show up under quests until you enter the mission

Just go to the mission staging area and the team leader will have a button on his party display that says, "Enter Mission" (or something to that effect). The quest that Tydus gives you actually is completed the moment you talk to the guy standing around in the staging area IIRC. You finish the quest before starting the mission. Your new characters have probably already finished the quest, there's no way to "get it back", you've already done it by showing up in the mission staging area -- you still need to go do the mission, however, unless you've already gotten the sword through your shield on your map. It's inside the mission that you'll help the ghost and get chased by the Charr, and the only way to get there is using that start mission button. You can't just walk in...

Thanks, now I understand what happened. I wasn't aware there was that much difference between "quests" and "missions". I thought missions were just quests that advanced the story.
